Instrumentation
- Installation and regular monitoring of utility settlement gauges
- Installation of inclinometer casing and monitoring lateral ground movements with an inclinometer probe
- Installation of vibrating wire piezometers
- Installation of pneumatic piezometers
- Installation of open stand pipe/Casagrande piezometers
Field measurements include the following:
- Lateral deformation of embankments
- Vertical deformation of underground utilities
- Pore pressure measurements
A few projects, but not limited to, are:
- Lateral ground deformation and underground utility settlement observation adjacent to an open cut excavation at the University of Chicago campus (see photo)
- Installation of vibrating wire piezometers at Oakdale and Norway Dams in Monticello, Indiana
- Crack width observation in floor slab at Club House in Munster, Indiana
